Dr. Shashwat Saxena is a Psychiatrist who learned the skills of diagnosing and improving depression, addiction, sleep disorders, memory problems, psychosis and childhood psychiatric disorders at Department of Psychiatry, King Georges Medical University, Lucknow. He offers both pharmacological treatment as well as counselling for the same. He is also trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
After completion of his three year training in Psychiatry, he did Senior Residency in the same Institute. Dr. Shashwat Saxena also worked as Project Co-ordinator, Regional Technical Training Centre, KGMU a sub-recipient of Project Hifazat of global fund Round-9 and was bestowed with responsibility to train doctors in Injectable Drug Users (IDU) harm reduction. He has over nine years of experience of managing and improving psychiatric patients with de-addiction and adult psychiatry (Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar and Psychosis) being his primary interests. He currently gives consultation at his clinic at Daliganj, Prabal Psychiatric Hospital and Midland Hospital.
He is Fellow of Indian Psychiatric Society, Fellow of Indian Psychiatric Society Central Zone, Executive Counsel Member Indian Medical Association Lucknow Branch and Member of Indian Association of Private Psychiatry.
He has more than half a dozen publications to his credit including a chapter on “Psychiatric Aspects of Medical Disorders” in Post Graduate Textbook of Psychiatry. He has been speaker as well as chairperson at various regional, national and international conferences. He regularly conducts awareness programs for mental health and is a guest faculty/ resource person at various programs conducted by Non- Government Organisations too. He also runs a NGO which works in the field of mental health.
